Fresh pre-packaged organic blueberries are available for purchase from our Orchard Shop based at Cafe Irresistiblue.

Please note that PYO is not available if it is raining, as it is not pleasant to get wet, and the berries can easily split when wet. Please phone first if you would like to check the weather or confirm availability on 07 834 3501 (cafe) or 0800 423 774 (office).

Unlike some other fruit, blueberries ripen in stages, with green, red & blue berries on each bush. Therefore it is important you only pick the ‘bluest’ berries from each bush. Currently we are picking from our early-season varieties. We grow over 20 different varieties on our orchard and each variety tastes and looks different. We offer PYO in the blocks that are the ripest at the time.

No dogs are allowed. The orchard also has a strict no smoking policy.

Our cafe and orchard shop are open 7 days, 9am-4.30pm.

PYO Terms & Conditions

Please report to Cafe Irresistiblue if you would like to PYO as you will be shown where to pick from there.

We would like all of our customers to have an enjoyable PYO experience, so please follow the rules below:

Unlike other fruit, blueberries ripen in stages, with green, red & blue berries on each bush. Therefore it is important you only pick the ‘bluest’ berries from each bunch.

Please stay in the row or area you have been assigned, as we want to make sure you are getting the ripest, tastiest fruit available. Wandering through the orchard into other areas is not permitted, and you will be asked to leave if you do so. There may be hazards, including machinery etc operating in these areas. The berries in other areas may not be ripe.

Please pick only the dark blue berries from the bushes. Do not pick the blue/red, red or green berries as these are unripe and need to stay on the bush longer to ripen. Please pick all of the dark blue berries on your bush fully before moving onto the next bush (including the berries lower to the ground). This makes it fair for all of our customers.

You will be shown how to pick blueberries by one of our staff members. Please pick carefully, holding your hand under the berries while you pick so that they roll into your hands and do not drop to the ground. If you do drop a berry, you can pick it up as we do not like to be wasteful.

Please respect our orchard and blueberries. Throwing of berries, riping off leaves and destruction of plants and property are not permitted. You may be asked to leave if seen demonstrating such behaviour. It takes a lot of time, effort and resources

NO DOGS are permitted on the orchard.

The orchard has a strict no smoking policy.

Why PYO

Pick Your Own Organic Blueberries is a fun activity for all ages.

Bring family and friends and enjoy a unique day out. PYO organic blueberries and afterwards enjoy a delicious meal, drink, ice-cream, coffee, cold drink, cocktail and more on the huge decks at Cafe Irresistiblue, our orchard cafe.

Blueberries taste best fresh, straight from the bush. Our certified organic blueberries have no chemicals, no pesticides, no herbicides and no insecticides, so you can be sure they are delicious, nutritious and healthy berries! There is no need to wash our berries before eating them.

PYO offers a great learning experience as you can see how blueberries grow. We grow many different varieties on our orchard, with different varieties ripening at different times during the season. Each variety looks and tastes different.

Blueberries freeze very well, so you can pick as many as you like, keeping some aside for fresh and freezing the rest. Blueberries can be frozen for up to 2 years.

Blueberries are very versatile and can be used in many ways. Eat them fresh; enjoy them in smoothies; bake with them (muffins, pies, cakes); create savoury chutney; make jam; create blueberry pancakes; … the possiblities are endless.

PYO organic blueberries are a lot cheaper than buying pre-packaged organic blueberries from the supermarket or fruit & vegetable store. At only $24.00 per kilogram for PYO, this provides significant savings of around $24.00* or more a kilogram! (*saving based on buying 8 x 125g punnets of blueberries at $6.00 a punnet).
