Café Manager & Event Organiser

Do you enjoy a challenge, thrive on keeping busy and love to see happy guests? Do you have business acumen and enjoy planning and running events?

Café Irresistiblue is looking for a charismatic leader to manage the day to day running of our orchard café and attract, plan and coordinate customer events.

• 5 days including at least 1 weekend day
• 8.30am to 4.30pm
• some evenings

Experience

All FOH duties: greet and seat; till/payment operations; barista skills; bar/cocktail knowledge; kitchen pass control; table service. Staff management and training. POS and booking system changing/updating. Event/function organising and managing.

Duty Manager certificate or able to obtain.

Managerial Duties

• Leadership and team management: train, motivate, mentor, coach, and foster a positive team culture
• Customer service excellence: friendly, patient, proactive, ensure customer satisfaction and able to handle customer queries and complaints effectively
• Work with our chef team to ensure cohesion across the hospitality offering
• Rostering staff.
• High standards of cleanliness, food quality and presentation
• Understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment for hospitality
• Operational adaptability: ability to multitask in a fast paced environment, solve problems quickly (equipment failure, rushes or staff shortage)
• Communication skills: clear, consistent communication with staff regarding expectations, with guests, owners and suppliers
• Financial acumen and organisation: manage inventory, budgeting, cost control, cash handling, numeracy, POS/till programming, booking system

Event Management

Orchard Assistant

We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced orchard Assistant to join our team starting in late August/early September. This is a permanent, full-time position. Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Some weekend work may be required during the summer harvest.

The work is mainly outdoors and at times may be physically demanding. Tasks include:

• plant propagation
• pest and disease monitoring and identification
• irrigation control
• weeding
• scrub cutting
• pruning
• lifting and collecting berries from the field
• assisting pickers to their picking location
• grading/packing
• planting
• operation of machinery

There is scope in this role for promotion to supervisor which would include training and supervising a team.

The successful applicant will:

• have a horticultural qualification
• be interested in organic growing
• have experience in a similar role
• be available to work Mon–Fri, plus weekend work when necessary during the summer harvest
• be physically fit and strong
• be motivated
• be able to follow instructions
• be able to work unsupervised
• be accurate and have good numerical skills
• have own transport
• be punctual, reliable and dependable

Wait Staff and Kitchen Hands – Café Irresistiblue

Café Irresistiblue at Monavale Blueberries is seeking a kitchen hand for a part-time role. Experienced preferred.

From time to time, we also need wait staff to join our exceptional hospitality team. We have opportunities throughout the year.
