Midwinter Sociale

the first event of the Young Organic Growers Alliance Aotearoa (YOGAA).

If you'll be at Fieldays 2026, you'll be just around the corner from Monavale Blueberries organic orchard and onsite café. The Midwinter Sociale is the very first in-person event for the Young Organic Growers Alliance Aotearoa, so come and help launch this community of like-hearted professionals and friends. Join us for an optional orchard tour, arrive for sunset drinks or later for dinner.

YOGAA is creating new opportunities for young growers to grow, influence, and contribute to a shared future with fresh perspective. Whether you're certified organic, in transition, growing organically already, or just organicurious, you are welcome. Under 40s are particularly invited to build relationships, share knowledge, and meet new faces. Tickets essential, details below.

For our purposes, growing means horticulture, agriculture, apiculture, aquaculture, viticulture, mycoculture, tree-herders, florists, community gardeners, organisers, and backyardists.

WHEN: Friday June 12th

3:45pm - arrive for optional tour

4:00pm - orchard and packhouse tour

4:50pm - sunset drinks and canapés

6:30pm - dinner

7:00pm - 'formalities' and short presentations

9:00pm - official close

10:30pm - last drinks

11:00pm - end

WHERE: Café Irresistiblue at Monavale Blueberries, 156 Turkington Rd, Cambridge. We are 11 minutes from Fieldays Mystery Creek, and 8 minutes from Cambridge.

Your ticket includes food and a welcome drink. Extra drinks also available over the bar.

Notes:

Please note our property is strictly no-smoking. We are on peat soil, which means fires and sparks of any kind are an extreme hazard.

Numbers are limited due to liquor licensing. Book early to avoid disappointment.

If you are planning to join for the orchard tour, please bring tough, closed shoes. You will need to comply with all safety directions.

Parking is available onsite, but no overnight accommodation is available.
